A man named Mallam Umar Tasiu in Minna, Niger State, was fatally beaten by his former in-laws. He had visited his two children, who were residing with his former wife in her father's house. According to a source, "He went to see them, and his former in-laws, who didn't want him in their house, tied and beat him until he died."
The source further explained that the man's lifeless body was returned to his residence on Saturday night and buried on Sunday at around 10 a.m.
The State Police spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, revealed that the victim succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna due to the severe whipping by hoodlums.
He stated, "On 22nd October 2023, at about 0800hrs, a case of suspected culpable homicide was reported at the GRA Division, that on 21st October, 2023, at about 2300hrs, one Umar Tasiu of Angwan Daji was attacked by hoodlums in Minna, and he sustained severe injuries."
He mentioned that the victim was rushed to the IBB Hospital, Minna, where he passed away. The case is currently under investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects.
