Ten current and former governors were unsuccessful in running for the Senate in the just-concluded 25th February election, according to BEVIBESHUB.
These governors and past governors were destroyed by the tsunami of the election.
Samuel Ortom
The governor of Benue State stated during the campaign that he was willing to give up his desire to run for senator in favor of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
He obviously accepted the price because he lost the election, but Mr. Obi also did not succeed.
Titus Zam, Ortom's former Special Advisor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Issues, defeated Ortom.
Mr. Zam received 143,151 votes, defeating Ortom's 106,882 votes.
Tanko Almakura
Tanko Almakura, the former governor of Nasarawa State, was also killed by the tsunami. His campaign for the Nasarawa South senatorial district fell short.
Mohammed Onawo of the Social Democratic Party beat Almakura. Mr. Al-Makura was defeated by Onawo, who received 93,064 votes to his 76,813 votes.
Abubakar Bagudu
Kebbi State's governor failed in his effort to win re-election to the senate. Adamu Aleiro, a former state governor, defeated him.
Prior to joining the People's Democratic Party and choosing the party's ticket, Mr. Aleiro was a member of the APC. Aleiro overcame his succeeding.
Simon Lalong
Also displaced were the director general of the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign council and the governor of Plateau State.
Bali Ninkap Napoleon of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated him (PDP).
Napoleon won the Plateau South Senatorial district with 148,844 votes, defeating APC Governor Lalong who received 91,674 votes.
Kabiru Gaya
The Kano wave that Rabiu Kwankwaso started inflicted damage on the former governor of Kano.
Kawu Samaila of the New Nigeria Peoples Party triumphed over him.
Gaya held the position of governor during the brief third republic.
Ifeanyi Ugwanyi
Despite being in office, Enugu Governor Ugwanyi was defeated on Saturday.
Because of the Obedient movement in Enugu State, his attempt to rejoin the National Assembly was unsuccessful.
With 104, 492 votes, Labour Party candidate Okey Ezea defeated Gov. Ugwuanyi, who received 46, 948 votes, by a wide margin.
Ben Ayade
On Saturday, Mr. Ayade, who is known for his large grammar, too came up short.
Ayade received 56,595, while the incumbent senator, Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party, received 76,145 votes.
From 2011 until 2015, Ayade served in the Senate; nevertheless, his attempt to reenter the Red Chamber was cut short.
Okezie Ikpeazu
Theodore Orji's transition to the Senate after serving two terms as governor was something that the governor of Abia State was unable to accomplish.
Enyinnaya Abaribe, a candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), defeated Ikpeazu.
In actuality, Mr. Ikpeazu placed in third place much behind Chinedu Onyeizu, the Labour Party (LP) candidate.
Darius Ishaku
On Saturday, the governor of Taraba State also experienced defeat when he lost to David Jimkuta of the APC.
In order to defeat the current governor and PDP candidate, who received 45,708 votes, Mr. Jimkuta received 85,415 votes.
Sam Egwu
After he lost in the election on Saturday, the former governor of Ebonyi, Sam Egwu, has had his tenure temporarily halted.

Peter Nwebonyi, a candidate for the APC and a former PDP state chairman, defeated him.
65,863 people voted for Nwebonyi. Anselem Enigwe of the Labour Party, who was his closest rival, received 42,283 votes to finish in second place, and Senator Egwu of the PDP received 26,569 votes to finish in third place.
