An unidentified man reportedly collapsed and died during the late hours of Tuesday in the Oke-Abetu area of Abeokuta South Local Government in Ogun State. According to information gathered by BEVIBESHUB Metro, the man, who was in his late fifties, was walking along the roadside when he suddenly collapsed and passed away.

A member of the community, speaking anonymously to our correspondent due to concerns about potential police questioning, noted that the man appeared healthy and did not seem to be suffering from any illness. His death occurred without any apparent cause or collision with any objects.

An additional source within the school situated at the location where the man passed away, who was only identified as the Vice-Principal Academics, revealed that both the school management and community leaders had made attempts to request government authorities to remove the man's remains. However, their efforts did not yield any results.

The Vice-Principal Academics stated, "We found the body yesterday when we noticed a crowd gathered around him. We were informed that the man was walking along the roadside when he suddenly collapsed and passed away. The school management contacted the community CDA and the Adatan police.

"The school's Principal, accompanied by the police, attempted to take the body to Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro and State Hospital in Ijaiye for storage in their morgues. However, both hospitals declined to accept it, citing a lack of available space. As it stands, the body has been returned to the location where the man died."

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the man's identity remains unknown since no family members have been identified. She further stated that health officials have been informed, and they will be responsible for the burial of the deceased individual.
