An assassination attempt was made in Abuja on Major General Hassan Ahmed, a former Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army.


He was killed on Thursday night in the nation's capital's Abaji neighborhood. His sister Safina Ahmed, who the attackers initially believed to be the wife, was taken hostage.


According to a source close to the family, the siblings were being attacked as they were leaving Okene.

"They started shooting at his car, and he died. They took the sister away after the driver feigned to be dead from his injuries, according to the source.



General Ahmed was exposed during the incident because he was not escorted, according to additional information obtained by BEVIBESHUB.

Sergeant Bukar, the deceased's driver, drove a Toyota Hilux with a private license plate.

Ahmed's body has been transported to the hospital run by the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) in Abuja.

He was most recently named a Director at the Army Headquarters in Abuja by Chief of Army Staff Faruk Yahaya.

As of the time of publication, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, director of Army Public Relations, could not be reached.
