Peter Obi, the Labour Party's nominee for president, has stated he will reject any invitation to join Bola Tinubu's Government of National Unity.
Obi has sued Tinubu, the president-elect, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the results of the election on February 25.
The APC candidate's campaign made hints that the former governor of Lagos would build an inclusive administration and include all of his rivals.
On Thursday, when Obi was a guest on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily, he was asked what he would do if asked to join Tinubu's Government of National Unity.
Obi responded by stating that he was still contesting the election and declaration processes.
He believed that the election process needed to be corrected before anyone could discuss the Government of National Unity.
"I want to make sure the method is correct initially. The method by which you do something is considerably more important than what you do thereafter. Let's go back to the beginning since I'm questioning the proclamation and the procedure.
“Until we get it right, then we can talk about a government of national unity. Otherwise, we would go and sit down and say that those who stopped a train and kidnapped people can call us to discuss peace when they have people in captivity. Until things are done rightly, we will be encouraging what we don’t need to encourage,” he said.
Obi said when asked if he would accept the decision if it did not go in his favor that he would be stunned if the court upheld Tinubu's candidacy.
He declared: "Court will resolve election-related issues. If that circumstance continues in this nation, I will be amazed. The conclusion that it is a country where corporate crime is rampant will then stand. We cannot tolerate it. Start breaking into this criminality's components.
"We want to unbundle it for the sake of our children because when people were talking about structure, it was this fraud and criminality that we witnessed."
According to the former governor of Anambra State, he thinks the judiciary would act properly.
