Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, the president-elect and vice president-elect, have requested more stringent security measures.
Prof. Ishaq Akintola, executive director of MURIC, made the demand in a statement on Friday in Lagos.
According to Akintola, it was founded on the allegedly increasing security threats and treasonous statements made by the opposition camp, which bothered on desperation.
He declared, "We feel it imperative to warn the country, especially the security agencies, about worrying political developments in Nigeria.
"We demand that the security authorities provide Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, and Kashim Shettima, the vice president, with separate guards. They must not experience anything.
"We warn those preparing to shorten the presidential inauguration, scheduled for May 29, of the dire repercussions of their plans."
