On Tuesday morning, there was a significant police presence at major junctions and roundabouts in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. The areas in the town with a police presence include Olaiya junction, Oke-Fia and LAMECO roundabouts, Old Garage/Freedom Park, Ayetoro roundabout, and the Osun State High Court premises, among others. The heavily armed police officers' presence may be related to the Supreme Court's judgment scheduled to take place today in Abuja.
BEVIBESHUB remembers that today, Tuesday, the highest court had scheduled judgment after hearing arguments from Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the case of the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election. Adeleke had won the election, but it was later overturned by the Osun gubernatorial election tribunal. However, the Appellate Court reversed the tribunal's decision and declared Adeleke as the duly elected governor of Osun.
