After a four-day journey to Doha, Qatar, where he attended the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries, LCDs, President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria on Wednesday.
The Nigerian president landed in Katsina around 4.50 p.m., according to a statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President. Aminu Bello Masari, the State Governor, and members of his cabinet were on the ground to welcome the President at the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua International Airport. He then took a helicopter back to Daura, where he was born and raised.
The Emirate Council and Alhaji Faruk Faruk, the Emir of Daura, greeted the President at the helipad.
Up to the conclusion of this weekend's elections for the state House of Assembly and the governorship, President Buhari will stay in Daura.
