Aliyu Wamakko, a senator for the All Progressives Congress, has urged voters to exercise restraint as they head to the polls to cast their ballots in the Saturday governorship and state house of assembly elections.

In a special address to the people of Sokoto State, Wamakko stated that peace is a requirement for any significant advancement.

Development and socioeconomic prosperity would continue to elude us without peace and harmony.

The former governor of Sokoto State declared that maintaining peace, togetherness, and a spirit of good neighborliness should be our top concern.

The senator for Sokoto North emphasized that violence is damaging and backwards-looking, and that it would not benefit anyone.

"Nobody should use violence in the name of politics, so we should all refrain from doing so,"I defend the value of human life.

"God grants and revokes leadership as He pleases and at the appropriate moment.

Thus, on Saturday, we should all vote in peace for the candidates we favor.
